Ngong Ping Village in Pictures

A trip in Hong Kong would not be complete if one would not visit the Ngong Ping Village in Lantau Island. The village is very popular because of the Tian Tan or Big Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery. Be awed and be amazed by the beautiful scenery that Ngong Ping Village has to offer to all its visitors.

A day at the University of the Philippines Diliman

I always wanted to go the University of the Philippines in Diliman – both as a student and a visitor. Unfortunately, I was not successful in getting admitted. So, I usually went in as a visitor.

During one of my vacation leave, I decided to take a visit at the Vargas Museum at the University of the Philippines and along the way, I took some pictures.

I was not able to walk around the whole campus due to the summer heat and I know I missed some sights that are truly UP but nevertheless, UP Diliman is a photographer’s place.

Photowalk along the beach

These are collections of photographs that I have taken while walking along the shores of beaches that I have went to.

In fact, we started off with two or three different shells and the shell had life of its own.

- Ken Thompson

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea.

 - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

A beach is not only a sweep of sand, but shells of sea creatures, the sea glass, the seaweed, the incongruous objects washed up by the ocean.

 - Henry Grunwald

My life is like a stroll on the beach...as near to the edge as I can go.

Taking a Boat Ride

I could still remember my first experience in taking a boat ride. It was a summer trip with my friends and while swimming on the beach a fisherman offered us to take us a boat ride. Having nothing else to do but swim, my friends and I accepted the offer. Ever since that first boat trip, I began looking forward for our trip and if we are going to ride a boat.

Boats, like whiskey, are all good.

As soon as I get on my boat, something inside me changes. Then I really feel what living is.

- Laura Dekker

We all came in on different ships, but we're all in the same boat now.

- Martin Luther King Jr.

If the boat started shaking, we stayed on course and didn't lose focus. That made the difference.

 - Sebastian Vettel

Twenty years from now you will be more disppointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

- Mark Twain

Riding a boat is like a lullaby, it calms you down as you breathe in the fresh air, feel the breeze blowing your hair and as the sea water sprinkle on your face.

The Beauty in a Sunset

It is always wonderful to watch the sunset. I believe that we are not attracted to the sun setting at the horizon, but we are mesmerized by the colors that it presented to us.

It is almost impossible to watch a sunset and not dream.

Sunsets are proof that endings can often be beautiful too.

- Beau Taplin

I love the sunset because of the nostalgic feelings it brings upon me. I love the way the sun colors the sky with bright orange, yellow and sometimes pink and violets. It’s like the whole sky has turned to a palette of colors.

“One day,' you said, 'I watched the sunset forty-three times!'

And a little later you added:
'You know, when one is that sad, one can get to love the sunset.'

'Were you that sad, then, on the day of the forty-three sunset?'

But the prince made no answer.”
